Why We Are Better

The huge growth and success of the laminate and wood flooring markets has unfortunately attracted a growing number of retailers, including many unscrupulous “fly-by-night” shops. Worse yet, there are a large number of unlicensed installers, answerable to no government authority, who are only interested in getting the job done as quickly and cheaply as possible, often with ugly and shoddy results. All too often, they try to suck you in with a cheap price. But a floor is not like a TV set or a microwave oven. The best price is usually not the best value.

Companies like Kittle’s Flooring are in the best position to help consumers navigate the complex world of wood flooring. We have a knowledgeable sales staff to help qualify your needs, help you choose an appropriate wood species from the bewildering variety available and provide a broad range of specialty services for first-class installation. We invite you to take a closer look at the attention to detail you can expect from Kittle’s at Great Details and at our Picture Gallery.

Our installation people are employees of Kittle’s, not sub-contractors. Sure it would be cheaper to use sub-contract labor, so why do we do this?

·         We do this to make sure your wood floor is installed to our high standards.

·         We do this to make sure we have a foreman on every job site all of the time to supervise the on-going work.

·         We do this to make sure our installers strictly follow the installation guidelines of the National Wood Flooring Association, of which we are a member.

·         We do this to make sure our installers have all of the right tools all of the time.

·         We do this to make sure our installers show up when they are supposed to because we schedule all their work.

·         We do this to make sure you are properly protected by our insurance.

·         And, we do this because it gives us the ability to tackle the really hard jobs like stairs and custom baseboards, mouldings and trims that put the perfect finishing touches on your new wood floor.

To assist you, here are some things to look for:

1.      How long has the retailer been in business? (Kittle’s has been in business since 1994.)

2.      Is the retailer licensed to do business in your county? (Kittle’s maintains all necessary licensing for our business area including a Certificate of Competency license. They are available for your inspection when you visit our showroom.)

3.      Is the retailer insured? (Kittle’s maintains appropriate commercial insurance which is available for your inspection when you visit our showroom.)

4.      Does the retailer have a “physical presence,” including a showroom and a warehouse, and not just an Internet address or a van? (Kittle’s has been in Broward County since 1994.)

5.      Does the retailer provide you with a written estimate, sales agreement and warranty? (Kittle’s carefully documents each step of the process and warranties our workmanship.)

6.      Does the retailer belong to industry associations? (Kittle’s belongs to several including the prestigious National Wood Flooring Association.)

7.      Is the retailer an authorized dealer for the brand name product you are interested in? (We strongly suggest you check in manufacturer’s website or call their toll-free number to confirm authorizations since an unscrupulous dealer would have no qualms about “bending the truth.” Kittles is authorized by several major brands such as Anderson, BR-111, Mohawk, Lyptus, Bruce, Mirage, Robbins, Forest Accents, Wilsonart and many others.)

8.      Does the retailer provide free estimates? (If you visit our showroom first, Kittle’s will come and measure your home or business, then provide a written estimate.)

9.      Does the retailer provide you with professional installation services? (Our installers are our employees; trained by us to meet our exacting standards of workmanship.)

10.   Is the retailer willing to provide references, not just the ones they choose, but ones that you can pick at random from the retailer’s customer base? (At Kittle’s we will open our customer file and allow you to pick the references!)

Your new wood floors probably represent a significant investment in your home and will probably add resale value to your home when it becomes time to sell. Doesn’t it make sense to check out the company that you are going to buy and have install your wood floors? Remember, the bitterness of poor quality lingers long after the sweetness of a cheap price.
